I’m Still Here!
Forgive me for being a stranger.
I have wanted to sit down and write for a while now but life has been very full. As you may remember from my last post, I taught a Youth Writing Camp for 3 weeks. It was wonderfully fun and I had a fabulous group of students…however, it was pretty tiring! Then my husband and I left for a much-needed vacation the day that my camp ended. We spent my birthday in San Francisco and then visited Sonoma and Carmel. Upon arriving home after two in the morning on Saturday, we found our basement carpet soaked from the record-breaking rainstorm in Chicago. We spent Sunday ripping out carpet and trying to air out as much of our things as possible. This morning I left the house in disarray because I had a job training for a position I just accepted as a Reading Specialist in an inner city after-school program.
Soooo….all of that to say, I haven’t abandoned writing but just haven’t had much mental capacity to write a meaningful, thoughtful post. I was formulating some thoughts in my head on vacation and I look forward to putting them to paper very soon. Until then, I thought I’d leave you with a verse that has encouraged me recently:
“But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” Psalm 86:15
Isn’t it refreshing to remember that when life feels a bit crazy, God’s character is consistent? I have been repeating this verse over and over to myself and reminding myself of who God is in the midst of the chaos of life. I pray you can too!
