You Steady My Heart

Posted on June 20th, 2012

As I was driving from errand to errand today, my mind was racing just as quickly. I was thinking about what I needed to accomplish but mainly I was praying about several of our extended family members who are grieving over some very heartbreaking situations. As I was pulling into Wal-Mart to pick out some flowers for my front porch, I caught the chorus to a new song by Kari Jobe on the radio. It completely described my sentiments of the day and of God’s provision for me and my family, and I stayed in the car to listen to the entire song. I am definitely going to download this song on my I-pod as it corresponds well to what God is teaching me right now. Thank you, Lord, that amid all of the craziness and heartache of life, you steady my heart.

Steady My Heart by Kari Jobe

Wish it could be easy
Why is life so messy
Why is pain a part of us
There are days I feel like
Nothing ever goes right
Sometimes it just hurts so much

But You’re here
You’re real
I know I can trust You

Even when it hurts
Even when it’s hard
Even when it all just falls apart
I will run to You
Cause I know that You are
Lover of my soul
Healer of my scars
You steady my heart [x2]

I’m not gonna worry
I know that You got me
Right inside the palm of your hand
Each and every moment
What’s good and what gets broken
Happens just the way that You plan

And I will run to You
You’re my refuge in Your arms
And I will sing to You
Cause of everything You are

You steady my heart [x2]
